New Moms and Their Families Deserve Great Quality of Life
There's more to health than the curing of diseases or the prolonging of lives. There's 'Quality of Life' that means and looks different for many of us depending on our current health and socioeconomic status.
Generally, having a good Quality of Life means living your best life in spite of your circumstances. You just need a health plan that's flexible with your unique needs and situation.
Dr. Kristal Lau stated: "I bring over 13 years of combined experience and knowledge in medicine, scientific research, public health, and teaching to help design a health blueprint tailored to you. Whichever life stage you're currently at, we can work together to help you achieve better health."
Let's get started with getting and maintaining the Quality of Life you want!
POSTPARTUM SUPPORT SHOULDN’T STOP AT A CHECKUP.
YOUR PATIENTS NEED A PLAN.
They Need More Than a Quick Follow-Up, They Need Real Postpartum Coaching.
Our 21st century modern needs and circumstances due to migration and evolving gender roles are consistently unmet due to outdated policies, mindsets, and social expectations.
Yet, our world hasn't adapted to help modern moms and their families to thrive.
Dr. Lau says:
"I work with women and their families who are tired of waiting for our modern world to catch up with meeting their needs.
I also work with women of Asian heritage and those married into Asian families because we have unique cultural challenges that can adversely affect our health."

Current Project:
My modern confinement
A philosophy, a postpartum recovery plan, and a book.
This project is the stepping stone towards the newfound mission to help women manage their health from motherhood through old age. And there's no better place to start than right after giving birth!

How I Got Here
Oh you know, the usual way. Science stream in secondary school back in Malaysia, then all the sciencey A-Levels subjects, and then medical school! Because what else would an Asian child be if not a doctor?
Jokes aside, I truly didn't enjoy medicine. But I noticed that I did enjoy contributing to the health of my patients. And I realised that I didn't have to remain a doctor to do that!
So, as I moved from one life stage to another and traversed motherhood in foreign countries as a US military spouse, I eventually discovered my current mission: to serve women from the motherhood stage through old age. Well, that's basically serving myself!
I then used my newfound knowledge from my Master of Public Health to come up with 'Bridges in Health' - a concept that speaks about how fostering relationships and building on knowledge from the past, present, and future can lead towards better health.
And I'm now applying 'Bridges in Health' to my first big project: My Modern Confinement!
